Target Stores Data Breach
Farmers & Merchants Bank of Central California was recently notified of a data breach at Target Stores affecting cardholders performing transactions between November 27, 2013 and December 15, 2013. For additional information on the data breach, please refer to the Target website (www.target.com).
Unfortunately, some F&M Bank Money Cards / Debit Cards were identified as At Risk because of Target's data breach and those customers will be contacted by F&M Bank via mail.
If your Money Card / Debit Card was identified as At Risk:
- Replacement Money Cards / Debit Cards have been automatically ordered and will be sent out within a few weeks. Please begin using the new card immediately upon receipt.
- The daily limits have been temporarily lowered to $250.00 per day for signature based Point-Of-Sale transactions, and also for PIN (Personal Identification Number) based transactions (either for ATM withdrawals or Point-of-Sale purchases).
- The daily limits will be restored on the replacement card.
We encourage you to immediately review and validate your account activity either online (if you have Online Banking or Mobile Banking), via phone at 1-800-888-1498 or by visiting your local branch - Notify us IMMEDIATELY of any suspicious or fraudulent account activity.

Furthermore, it is important to note this breach took place outside of F&M Bank, we have not been compromised nor were our banking systems.
